4. Walk into a clinic or a dentist for a routine consultation.
5. Drive to the border at the hour you would really go, and come back.
6. Compare a Tuesday with a Sunday: crowds, noise, parking.
7. Pay attention to mornings: fog, temperature, light.
8. Run the long-stay routine: laundry, cooking at home, quiet hours.
9. Meet long-stay residents and ask what they wish they had known.
10. Look at three rentals in person and compare them to the calculator.

If you only know Rosarito in summer, test a different season. Late spring brings coastal fog; winter brings the gray whale migration and quieter streets.
