Chapter 02 · Checked October 2026

Doctors, dentists and pharmacies in Rosarito

What exists, what it reportedly costs, and the questions to settle with your insurer before you move.

What is available in town

Rosarito has private clinics and hospitals, and expat guides consistently say many healthcare professionals speak English. Dental care and routine consultations are the usual draw; complex or specialized care is where you should do the most homework.

The hospital in the town center

Hospital Bonanova, a private hospital in Zona Centro.

  • Address Blvd. Benito Juárez 907-32, Playas de Rosarito
  • Phone (661) 612-5157
  • Hours Open 24 hours, every day

Public listings describe emergency care, hospitalization, ambulance transfers, general, bariatric, laparoscopic and plastic surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, ENT, cardiology, internal medicine, urology, laboratory, X-ray and ultrasound, and a dental unit.

Read this part. Public reports say the emergency service stabilizes patients for up to two hours, with materials and medication charged. That is not the same as a full trauma center. Call ahead to confirm what it can handle, and know where you would be transferred for something serious.

The hospital is on the same block as Rosarito Inn (Blvd. Benito Juárez 907). We are not affiliated with it; details come from public listings and should be confirmed by phone.

Dental and pharmacies

  • Dental: local dentists are widely described as affordable. One 2026 cost table lists a cleaning at $30 to $50.
  • Pharmacies: national chains operate in town, including Farmacias Similares, described as one of the cheapest options for generics and low-cost consultations, and Farmacias Roma.

Insurance: the question to answer first

Expats generally choose between international plans and Mexican plans, and many insurers offer dental and vision add-ons. Two checks before you commit to anything:

  • Original US Medicare generally does not pay for care you receive in Mexico. Confirm your own coverage.
  • Ask any insurer exactly what happens in an emergency in Baja California, and in what order they pay.

Test it during your trial month

  • Save 911 (Mexico's emergency number) and the hospital's number in your phone on day one.
  • Fill a real prescription at a local pharmacy.
  • Book a dental cleaning or a routine consultation and see how it feels.
